startrekANNOUNCEMENT: KiScon 2022 – Registration is open!
Dear K/S friends,
As you know we had to cancel the 2021 convention due to the pandemic. While we are cautious with any promises when we will be able to bring back an in-person event (after the twists and turns of the last two years any predictions are a risky business), we are happy to announce that there will be a different kind of KiScon this year: a virtual con, entirely online.
Save the date: 4 – 6 November, 2022 !
We still aim to offer a KiScon experience that is as close to the “real thing” as possible: panels, workshops, games, vidshows, art, cosplay, contests, and many other activities. There will be a digital goody bag too, with the con zine, the vidshows, and various other virtual goodies.
(You might have to bring your own drinks and cake, though.)
Standard online-attending memberships are USD 20 for the whole weekend.
To make this possible, we use an online platform (created by a fellow fan) in connection with Zoom (panels) and Discord (chat rooms for socialising and sharing). Shows will be streamed via a vid hosting platform. If you think this sounds all terribly technical and complicated: fear not, we are aware that the move to a virtual format might seem intimidating to many of us, and we will do our utmost to make this as painless as possible. Tech-savvy mods and patient volunteers are happy to help you along the way. We will also have a few “training sessions” one or two weeks before the con, so that no one goes into the weekend unprepared. To take the various timezones into account, we decided to go with EST (N.Y.) as our main time, with additional panels and activities scheduled to make our program attractive to all members, no matter in which part of the globe. A helpful overview with timezone information will be posted closer to the con.

It will also be open year-round with general channels, to give past KiScon attendees and fans interested in future KiScons a place to socialise and discuss all things K/S.
